THE GARDENER
Most of you know that there are perennials planted next to both house properties of Bethany. They are hands’ on Science for us. Soon the children will be shown how to raking off the brown of last year , check the survivors from the winter and nurture them. Our home-made compost will be spread and the rain barrel put to use.
The women of Easter who went to Jesus’ tomb thought that the figure they saw was the gardener. Although it wasn’t , it was Jesus, our resurrected Savior, He is our gardener.
It is He who wants to feed us the fertilizer of His Word and water us with the breath if his Spirit. He wants us to trust Him when he cuts back the dead leaves and the branches that no longer bear fruit in our lives. He, the Master Gardener, wants to give us the wisdom and skills to cultivate, telling the weeds from the flowers. That only happens through the Master Gardener’s Hand Book: the Bible. As we, the children, teachers, and you.our support system, move forward together into the last month of school we pray that we all use every opportunity to bask in the sunshine of His love and faithfulness. “ We are the true vine, and our risen Lord is the gardener.” John 15:1
