Ephesians 2:20: "Built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone." We believe that Jesus Christ is the Savior of the world and that by believing in Him, we will spend eternity in heaven.
This Biblical faith has come down from our Father in heaven and has been passed down to us by our forefathers on earth. As one Holy Christian Church, we join our voices with those faithful Christians who have gone before us. We use the three Ecumenical Creeds regularly in worship: the Apostles' Creed, the Nicene Creed, and the Athanasian Creed. We also subscribe to the unaltered Augsburg Confession and the confessions of the Lutheran Book of Concord (1580) because they are true explanations of the Biblical faith.
Here on earth, we enjoy the fullest life possible by God filling our lives with his grace. Christ has loved us and died for us. This gracious, undeserved love of God changes us to be like him. We care for our members. We want to be like Christ in our community and among everyone we meet. We reach out to save the lost. We want to share with you the joy we have found in our relationship with God."COMPELLED BY GOD"S LOVE, BETHANY EV. LUTHERAN CHURCH EXISTS TO SHARE THE GOOD NEWS OF CHRIST'S PAYMENT FOR THE SINS OF THE WORLD."
The history of Bethany is a beautiful picture of God's continued grace and blessings upon his people. The earliest members and pastors came directly from Germany, the land of Luther and the Reformation. For the past 159 years, Bethany has been blessed with faithful members and dedicated pastors and teachers. Bethany has supplied several of its own church sons and daughters for the preaching and teaching ministry. Our affiliation with the Wisconsin Evangelical Lutheran Synod (WELS) has also been a beautiful blessing. The motto of our synod is: "SOLO GRATIA, SOLA FIDE, SOLA SCRIPTURA" - By grace alone, by faith alone, by scripture alone! Let us praise God for giving us his Word in its truth and purity throughout the past 159 years here at Bethany. Times certainly have changed since Bethany was founded- the styles, the buildings, the language, names and faces. Yet, the message of his undeserved love and the gift of our salvation remains the same: "A CHANGELESS MESSAGE FOR A CHANGING WORLD!"
